Cholesterol
High cholesterol is a condition where there is too much cholesterol in the blood. Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance your body needs to build cells and make hormones, but too much of it can be harmful.
When cholesterol levels are high, it can build up in the blood vessels and form plaques, which may narrow or block blood flow. Over time, this increases the risk of heart disease and stroke. High cholesterol often has no symptoms, so it is usually found through blood tests. It can be managed with healthy eating, regular exercise, and medication if needed.
